Liam Payne

Full name: Liam James Payne

Liam was born on August 29, 1993, 3 weeks earlier from the expected date.

Liam took up boxing lessons at the age of 12 because he was bullied; it gave him confidence and did pretty well over the next couple of years.

Payne first auditioned in X Factor in 2008 when he was only 14 years old but Simon Cowell thought that he wasn't ready and told him to come back after 2 years. He came back in 2010 X Factor's 7th series, exactly after 2 years. He sung "Cry Me a River", received a standing ovation but rejected at boot camp after singing "Stop Crying Your Heart Out ", then put into One Direction.

He was born on December 24, 1991.

Louis is from Doncaster, South Yorkshire, England.

His mother's name is Johanna and his father is Mark. Louis has 4 younger sisters named, Charlotte, Félicité, and twins Daisy and Phoebe.

Louis already appeared in several shows like "Fat Friends" with his sisters when the twins are still babies, "If I Had You" which is an ITV1 drama, "Waterloo Road" where he had a small part and in several musical productions at his school (Hall Cross School).

Zayn is from West Lane, Baildon, Bradford, England

He was born on January 12, 1993

Zayn grew up in East Bowling, south of the Bradford City Centre.

He used to study in Lower Fields Primary School and Tong High School.

Niall Horan

Mother's name is Maura, his father is Bobby and he has an older brother, named Greg, 23 years old.

Niall's parents divorced when he was 5 years old.

He's a former student of a boys' Christian Brothers school – Coláiste Mhuire

Niall has been playing guitar since childhood and referred to it as the best present he ever received for Christmas.

He's been performing around his homeland and been part of Lloyd Daniels in Dublin as support act prior to joining X-Factor

In his audition for The X Factor 7th series, he performed the song, "So Sick". He was sent to the boot camp after getting 3 votes out and sang "Champagne Supernova". Niall failed to qualify and later became a member of One Direction.

One Direction is a British-Irish boy band composed of 5 members who began as solo candidates for The X Factor in 2010. Niall Horan, Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne were put into a band after failing to qualify for the X Factor Boys category as suggested by Nicole Scherzinger, one of the guest judge.

 The band qualified for the X Factor Groups category and finished 3rd in the competition.  Their "Forever Young" song was intended to be released if One Direction win the competition but leaked onto the internet after the final.

 "What Makes You Beautiful" was their debut single, released in September 2011 followed by "Gotta Be You" in November 2011.  One Direction was also the first UK group in history to debut at No.1 with their first album titled, "Up All Night" which was released in Nov. 2011.
